Photo Ideas

One of the reasons for someone to belong to some type of photographic association (local clubs, on-line sites) is stimuli. Ideas. Projects. Assignments. This is one of the reasons I'm playing on Flickr, even though there are other (and somewhat more user friendly) places to store photos on-line.

For example, group names which pop up for me today (not that I'm going to join all these groups; but they do give one ideas of things to look for):
- Green is Beautiful
- Unseen War (staging photos with toy soldiers to keep the toy box safe
- Altered Signs (finding signs which have been altered to convey somewhat different messages than originally intended)

And, some of the groups I do look at frequently:
- B&W (also spelled out, 2 groups)
- Medium Format
- TLR (a type of medium format camera)
- Studio Lighting (a subject I'm beginning to explore in detail)
- Home Studio (related to above)

There's more. Lots more. If you feel up to it, go visit www.flickr.com/photos/madshutterbug/. Or not. I know some of you do already.

You have some fabulous photos on there! What kind of camera do you use?

We just bought a 500mm lens to go with our digital Konica Minolta, but then we're interested in nature, and particularly bird, photography.

Well, what's currently up on Flicr represents three, maybe five cameras. Lessee...

Nikon D70s (majority of the work on Flicr, too, but only because I've got a lot of catching up to do in reviewing & scanning...)
Nikon FE2 (one or two photos)
Mamiya C330 (mebbe half dozen? Anything referenced to New Zealand, as that's the camera I took with me)

There may well be a few shots done with a Nikon Coolpix 4600. And one shot done with an Olympus whopping 1.2 megapixel point and shoot.

I think I did a general listing in the Flickr profile.

And thank you for the compliment. Been shooting for forty-something years a while. Your birding photos are pretty snazzy too.

My hubby does the photography. I do the bird spotting:) Thus far, all we have used is the Sony Cybershot with a telephoto lens. We aren't happy with the quality of moving targets or the telephoto resolution. Still, some of our Costa Rica photos are pretty nice...I really like the collared aracari pair photo in my scrapbook.

Therefore, we have a new camera. We'll see what happens when we go down to the Rio Grande Valley with the new stuff in July.

Welcome! Yup, I've seen you over at zompus's place. It's the weekend, so I'm on dial-up. Means it may be a day or so before I wander through Flickr again, or not if I am up in small hours and nothing else going on. Thanks for the heads-up. *G*

An ancient technology for an individual to access the Etherworld. While it does work, it is known for it's lack of speed and pep. *G*
