Is it a Conspiracy?

What is it about motel/hotel places, that when a guest is staying longer than overnight the housekeepers clean up the little soap bars every day? I mean, there's enough soap in those bars for a week, no worries. Yet every day the bar of soap disappears, and a tightly wrapped brand new one is there in its place.

Now it could be that I'm excessively frugal; I've no idea what a little bar of soap costs. And, since I live with someone who makes soap, I know that soap bars may be added back to a batch of new soap without too much trouble.

But I've got this image of a black market in recycled soap bars...

And What Does It Mean When

My personal laptop, which has been plugged in while at the hotel to keep battery charge up, just shut itself off. Twice. Hopefully this is more a sign that the battery (six years old) is actually loosing it's ability to hold a charge rather than something more ... dire. Since I didn't bring the power source with me to training classes, it shall need to wait until after today's sessions to trouble-shoot.

Meanwhile, at least I did get to deal with a couple e-mails that needed quick attention. And lunch is good. This is all to the plus.

We now return you to your Regularly Scheduled Life.

So Wazzup Widdit?

Laptop now says it has a full battery charge. I suppose tomorrow I'll test it out, but I'll wait until I'm on the aircraft if I'm going to go there.

Meanwhile, tonight's culinary adventures included a meeting with janetmiles and her husband. Wonderful company and conversation, though I suspect J got me talking about myself rather more than I intended (wanted to share the spotlight there *G*).

Quaker Steak and Lube the name of the place, and there's evidently one in Clearwater. My meal tonight, a Philadelphia Steak Salad, beef done medium rare and a Cajun Blue Cheese dressing. Large portions; I couldn't finish mine though I gave it a valiant effort. I'll definitely be checking out the one in Clearwater some time when I head down there to visit fatfred.

Right now, time to pack as much as possible tonight, because tomorrow morning is check out on the way to class. We leave from the HQ around 13:00 to head home. Classes went well, with a mixture of new items in the software and feedback into the training process. It's a new upgrade release that we've been the Beta site for, and the other groups are putting into place as an upgrade a bit after we've gone live with the version. So these sessions are as much about setting up the training programs and materials for future implementations as teaching us about the new features.
