Houdini & I

Chilly. Not Chili

Weather service missed the mark a tad for us last night. Last forecast I looked at put us cold, yet still above freezing. Um... not so much. Right at freezing. Herself went out to do a last check around 02:00 (we have a friend visiting) and turned the sprinklers on the garden to protect what is currently growing. Needed to break up a bit of ice in the hoses.

Still and all, everyone made it through the night, including the New Kid.

Could be an interesting winter, here in North Central Baja Jorja. And yes, we do get winter here. Not at all like north of the Mason-Dixon line, I make no pretensions about that. We do get freezing weather. Florida is a long, slender state in two directions, and it isn't until one gets south of the I-4 corridor before one gets to where freezes are rare occurrences. Happens often enough that the citrus industry around Orlando made big provisions for cold weather. And as one of the signs of global climate changes, happens cold enough that for the past almost 20 years, there isn't much citrus industry around Orlando any more.

Houdini enjoyed the day yesterday, probably most (based on behaviour) the walkabout on the Ranch around 11:00 that I do every year on the Day.

Such is my exciting life.
