Meme

Comment on this post. I will choose six userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post your answers (and this explanation of the meme) in your own journal (if you want) so others can play along. Or heck, post them here if you don't want to toss it into your own journal... that is, if LJ will allow the length of your explanations!

My own, as requested:
First of all, with the two notations otherwise all these icons are my own work, my own photographs. Not all my icons are mine own; the majority are.

That said, here we go:

Blues Brothers Blues Brothers
I use this icon when I want to represent 'Attitude'; can be good or bad attitude. Every year at my AORN Congress meeting, one of the companies which provides equipement for us to use in the Surgical Suite providing care hires some theme 'impersonators' and then makes photos of the OR nurses attending their booth at the trade show. In 2003 we went to Chicago, and they had the Blues Brothers. I am a huge fan of Jake and Elroy, and talking to the guys getting ready for the picture (they both like my hat here...) we all said 'Attitude!' at the same time. This is one of two photos I didn't make which are amongst my icons.
Goat, Curious Goat, Curious
This little fellow was not one of our bottle-babies and therefor didn't have much reason to be very 'people-fied'; however, he was a very curious young goat and often wanted to see what I was doing while photographing the herd. I use this icon when the Ranch Goats are talking in my LJ, and are curious about something. This is one of my photos.
Kitten! Kitten!
This little fellow is 3of4 KittnzOfApocalypse; in fact, this may of been the weekend when they received their names. They were just on eight weeks old the weekend that Hurricane Frances sat on us for three days, starting to explore the house outside of their birthing den. Three climbed up on my shoulder to take a nap. I tend to use this icon for 'thoughtful' or sad postings, based on the expression on my face; I was reading something at the time, but also this was I think the second day of the hurricane. Herself made this photograph.
Me & Mini-Fred Me & Mini-Fred
Skippy (of fatfred fame) asked me to take Mini-Fred Ot-tar up to Washington DC with me in 2006, when I went up there for AORN Congres, to make photos of the ot-tar at monuments. The rest is a very long story; told in part in mini_fred's own LJ, and other places. Suffice it to say, this is a self-portrait of myself and Mini-Fred at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt monument. Used when making postings about the ot-tars and Otters Mob, and sometimes when the sittle lhit sneaks into my LJ to make a comment.
No Poking No Poking
Used for those posts when I'm venting/ranting about things happening which are truly riling me up; the caption says it all. Poke at your own risk... the photo is from a studio session with a young lady who is also a fencer. I asked her to do several poses with my katana.
Shiroi Okami Shiroi Okami
Ah, and once again we mention Skippy. Amongst the several things she sells at Renn Fairs, and artists that she represents, is Danny and the puppets. These are fantasy puppets, dragons, gryphons, fairies, and wolves. The heads are animated with full motion, controlled by a cable which comes out their... backsides. The larger ones, and Okami is one such, are also articulated with the front and back legs so they will sit comfortably on one's shoulder. The control cable is then brought around one's back and held in one's hands, near one's waist. Thus, it is not immediately obvious how the puppet is being controlled. This creates some wonderful suspention of willing disbelief. The more the puppets are worked, the more limber the cable becomes, and eventually it can be controlled one-handed. I helped Skippy sell these puppets many years, at a local medieval faire, and finally just couldn't resist this one. I am rather fond of puppets and puppet theatre, you know. So this icon gets used when I'm posting about Renn/Medieval Faires, and possibly if posting about fantasy subjects. His name translates as "Grey Wolf", with some help from wedschilde.

Re: Your Mission, Should You Choose...
This icon was available via a "generic kinda cool icons" post that troyswann made. I love the moon and I lifted this one because of it. :)
