Through the Looking Glass

So, testing the cross-post from the whole DreamWidth zone thing. Usual for the weekend morning, wake slow & drink coffee, head out to do the Ranch Rounds. Biggest difference this time around is the Spring Kidding is started. I've been told that sounds like an event to be found at a Renaissance Faire, along with some other humourous thoughts. Actually, not that far off. So far 10 new kids. Triplets from one doe, and we are both happy and mildly chagrined. She's not the oldest, but is one of the older does. Last time around we bottle-fed her kids, as she's gotten fibroids in her udder and her milk is blocked. Alas, and these are the ones we're feeding this time as well.

However, Nose copes so marvelously with this. She stands by (just out of our reach, she's not one of our more people-fied goats) and waits until the kids are full, then she gathers them back to her, and grooms and nuzzles and cuddles them. From her point of view, it's a functioning relationship. We're the wet-nurses.

After taking care of Ranch, Herself and I wandered over to Williston. There is a Farmers Market cum Flea Market advertised at the Lions Club, and Herself wanted to check it out as this is a potential outlet for her wares. Looks interesting, and she's going to follow up on getting space. Then heading home she directed me to the Williston Women's Club, which hosted an Art Festival today. Made contact with four different artists and the Williston Artists League as well. Most of the artists could be called 'local' as being from North Central Baja Jorja. One is very local, probably within five mile radius from the Ranch.

Now, I should be doing other things, instead here I am nattering away.
