Homage to the Highwayment

If you aren't familiar with them, the Highwaymen are a group of African-American painters from the '50's and 60's here in Baja Jorja. Due to the nature of the times, they could not get formal art training, are mostly self-taught, and used whatever materials they could to paint on. Then they made their own frames, and sold their paintings from their autos on the side of the highways. Often, sometimes, the paint still wet enough to receive an impression from the frame of the adjacent painting.

Hence the name, though that did not come along until they were 'discovered' in the '90's by an art dealer...
