I would like to send you all on a wee Internet trip. It might seem apropoe of nothing to go here, but there is something significant to me about the site. This is where my brother and his wife pulled Sailing Vessel North Star onto the hard for maintenance just a bit shy of a year ago now. This is where Hurricane Ivan trashed the entire island, though not, fortunately, North Star. This is where they say some nice things about my brother.

And so I just want to send them some really, really good vibes.

Every now and again, it pays to Google on your name for images. John is the first one up.

*steps to the line in front of the fireplace*

Here's to you, Bro. No regrets, Fair winds and following seas.

*tinkling of glass fragments bouncing around in the fireplace*

Ego-surfed myself. :)
Under 'Marji' there's a pic on the first page of me at a Camarilla convention, in character costume.
Also discovered how many Marji's there are out there - very cool.

Ego surfing myself is wading through 99.9% of stuff that isn't me. Last time I checked, there were 3 of me in the phone book. :)

oh, and don't forget what my first name is, especially in the context of my last name. :) Pictures of Scotland, anyone?

Yup, that looks like the Marji I know.

And thank you for the compliment up there.

Thanks. They used to have a web site up, but it looks like Kay elected to save the money. However, since I was their (not terribly effective) webmaster, I've got all the files and I'm thinking about putting it back up in a modified manner. Despite my lack of effectiveness, John was happy; he said it still got done faster than if he did his own web site. :)

North Star is a 45' Herrshoff ketch. Did only a little sailing with them.

Have a good sail, though it'll probably be after you're back that you'll see this.

It just seems especially cruel to lose someone that suddenly and unexpectedly.

I don't know about cruel. The rest of it's quite on target. *G*

Well, my name is too bloody common, and there aren't any pictures of me on the Internet...but I did find a photo of mine that is being used on a commercial website (I gave permission), and I was surprised to find that a book I wrote like 14 years ago is still in stock and selling at Barnes and Noble.

Unfortunately, I was inexperienced and did the book as work-for-hire, and no one expected them to stay in print, and I've missed 14 years of royalties. On five books. Grrrr.
