Getting ready for another nursing related trip, and trying to clear the e-mail account on-line. Generally this happens when I download e-mail via dial-up using Eudora. I'm not positive it cleared the on-line holding bin, because I'm having problems accessing the bin via the Internet. This is because I check mail on-line (like, when I'm at work) via the Web, but from home via the dial-up and Eudora. Outgoing mail accumulates, so I need to move it to the In Box so it will download. Lot's of wierdness happening, and I'm blaming it on McAfee's Spam Killer. Might or might not be the case, but these problems did start after Spam Killer was loaded.
The reason for clearing the holding bin is, on this particular trip I'm not sure I'll have Internet access even though I'm bringing the laptop. I'm bringing the laptop because the photography will use it; new camera and more later. You see, for this nursing related trip, first we journey to the Port of Miami to board a Carnival Cruise ship. Then we go to Key West and Cozumel, weather permitting. Rough life, I'll try to endure. But what I recall from previous cruises is that you only access the Internet through their on-board Internet Cafe's, their machines, and they charge. Like, for everything, but then one is a captive audience and one did volunteer to board the ship. So this isn't exactly a complaint.
New Camera: Yes, I've purchased a Nikon D70s to improve my digital photography capability. Again, the last cruise I went on, they insisted on x-raying everything when one boarded ship... every time, even in ports of call, even when re-boarding from their private leased island. Everything, including film. So I wanted digital for the next time we cruise, which is this cruise.
Well, and more reasons, too, but it's a good excuse.
So overall, I'm not sure how much access I'll have, but I will need the Box because I plan on taking lots of photographs.
