Music of the Ages Meme

Go to musicoutfitters.com, and do a search on the most popular 100 songs from the year you graduated high school. (You can do this by searching on the year you graduated). Bold the ones you actually like. (This could be a very loose definition.) Pick a favorite. Underline that favorite. And strikethrough the ones you loathe. Italicize the ones you consider to be guilty pleasures.

And if they're plain, that's pretty much the way they struck me.

So, to review:
Bold the ones you liked.
Underline your favourites.
Italicise the guilty pleasures.
Strike the ones you loathe. (Of course, that means I'll probably need to edit after posting, because it's not easily accessible on the Fancy Posting page)
_____Indent the ones you don't even have a clue what they sound like just by the title (I'm stealing this one, wedschilde will get over it.)

Hmm. As of posting, none that I loath (or I have a lot of tolerance for things I don't like), and no guilty pleasures. Either I don't feel much guilt, or I don't understand what that's supposed to be about...

It's also obvious I'm a CCR fan. And that maybe it's hard for me to pick favorites.

Oh, oh, and I didn't do anything to select it, but I really like "Fallettin Me Be Mice Elf Again"! I've got visions of mice wearing little hats.

Re: damn skippy!
Inagottadavida! Yeah. (I think it's all one word, don't remember too well... :)

There's a lot I didn't mark that are OK, like most of the Stevie Wonder and some other things. Closest I come to loathing something would be the Carpenters. Didn't much care for them, but they didn't make me run screaming from the room, either.

I actually played with this one for several years, certain milestones. The four years of high school, the first two years of college, 1976 the year I got out of the US Navy, 1980 the year I graduated from College of Nursing, UF. Interesting...

As an aside, I remember most of the ones that you don't: Band of Gold, Which Way You Goin' Billy, Give Me Just a Little More Time, Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes), Tighter, Tighter, My Baby Loves Lovin', Vehicle. And there were surprisingly few that I didn't remember.

And CCR, oh yeah. I still say John Fogarty has the most recognizable voice in all of rock.

I really chuckle over Fogarty's "Heard It Through the Grapevine" as being my definitive version, rather than Motown's...
